The seventh task Week 10 ( August 29 - September 4)

Dear TAs

We  are planning a session for all TAs this  Wednesday, 4 th September, in the lab at Cassinga from 12pm - 15h30 .

The aim of this session is to :

1) go over the requirements of the training programme together ,
2) establish where we are in terms of completion of our learning tasks
3) draw out a reasonable plan of action for completion of our learning tasks.
We will be working from the blog space. .

Those who have not collected their portfolio files please come and collect them as soon as possible.

Visit the Workshop 7 in the blog space to go over what was presented for this workshop, and then  try to complete task 7 as soon as you can.

We have now resumed our work and are progressing on to out sixth task. The road has been rather bumpy but we will try our best to get back on course as well as we can.

Resuming our blog !

I have been away on leave followed by a sick leave and was unable to continue with the 
blog as planned.

But now I am back and we will be able to continue with the rest of the tasks as planned.

The fifth task - Week 8 ( July 4 - July 10)

Dear TAs

All the tasks for the first five workshops are up an ready for you to respond.
These are Workshop 1; Workshop 4 : Workshop 3 : Workshop 6 and Workshop 5.

Kindly visit the above mentioned blogspots and make sure that you have completed the activities as planned. 
Starting from this week on wards, we will be sending  individual emails to make sure that all the designed tasks are completed .

Welcome back , all those who went away, especially Simone and Thapelo from your trips. We hope that you will share some of your pictures with us !

Sorry this is being posted so late:

We worked through all the individual activity sheets that you handed us at Workshop 3: Incorporate information literacy components into your teaching to compile master documents.

Activity 1: Introducing students to information sources for science
Activity 2: Teaching information competencies  (rich resource)

I think that the combined results offer good ideas and may become a useful resource for your portfolios.  We can certainly build on what you have given us!  The documents have also been posted to the Workshop 3 page. 

Thanks for your whole-hearted participation at the Workshop. We plan to revisit the workshop to refine some of the activities.

PS:  Due to time constraints, activity 3 and the assignment were dropped at the Workshop.  We proposed that the Preliminary Task originally assigned might become a replacement assignment.   Rita may make the final call here, depending on the overall work required for the programme.

The fourth task - Week 7 (27 June - 3 July)

Dear TAs

We are taking a week's break as the first part of  workshop 6 (learning facilitation) has already been completed. We will be uploading the preliminary evaluation of your presentations early next week.

During the third term, we will arrange to view one complete lesson for each TA but we will remind you before that time.In the meantime , go over all the tasks you have already covered so far.

When you get time, visit the workshop 6 blog space to go over what was presented for this workshop.

We will resume our tasks on  03 July 2013.
