The fifth task - Week 8 ( July 4 - July 10)

Dear TAs

All the tasks for the first five workshops are up an ready for you to respond.
These are Workshop 1; Workshop 4 : Workshop 3 : Workshop 6 and Workshop 5.

Kindly visit the above mentioned blogspots and make sure that you have completed the activities as planned. 
Starting from this week on wards, we will be sending  individual emails to make sure that all the designed tasks are completed .

Welcome back , all those who went away, especially Simone and Thapelo from your trips. We hope that you will share some of your pictures with us !

Sorry this is being posted so late:

We worked through all the individual activity sheets that you handed us at Workshop 3: Incorporate information literacy components into your teaching to compile master documents.

Activity 1: Introducing students to information sources for science
Activity 2: Teaching information competencies  (rich resource)

I think that the combined results offer good ideas and may become a useful resource for your portfolios.  We can certainly build on what you have given us!  The documents have also been posted to the Workshop 3 page. 

Thanks for your whole-hearted participation at the Workshop. We plan to revisit the workshop to refine some of the activities.

PS:  Due to time constraints, activity 3 and the assignment were dropped at the Workshop.  We proposed that the Preliminary Task originally assigned might become a replacement assignment.   Rita may make the final call here, depending on the overall work required for the programme.
